It’s good to know there are companies out there who CARE about their customer. I have the Motorola Droid through Verizon and began having issues the week before Christmas. Basically, my phone would get really hot while charging. Sometimes it would get to 30%, sometimes 70%. I thought maybe an app I had loaded was causing issues, so I removed the few I had loaded that week and tried again. I was having the same symptoms. So, I ordered a new battery, thinking that was the problem. That still did not resolve the issue. I called Verizon, explained what was going on and what I had done, and they agreed my phone was having issues. The NEXT day, I had a replacement Droid and everything is running smooth. Thank you Verizon!

Andriod 2.2 on Droid
I’d have to say I’m less than enthused with the latest release from Google. I woke up on Friday morning and my phone had been updated. So, I restarted it and everything seemed fine. That was, until I put it in my car dock to go to work. See, I listen to a lot of music on my Droid during the 25 minute drive to work. It used to stay brightly lit so I could see what songs were playing or see the map if I was in navigation mode. Apparently Google decided that the display should follow the auto dimming feature, regardless of whether it’s plugged in or not. I’ve noticed the same on my media dock at home, since I use it for my alarm clock too. It used to have a nice display that had a dim background at night. It would even show you the weather forecast for the next day. However, since 2.2, it now just shows the time in a night vision goggle type of color. Such a shame. I want my 2.1 back…
LancherPro for Droid
I’ll have to say, I really liked LauncherPro on my Droid. However, early testing would indicate my hunch is true with the latest version. My phone wouldn’t even hold a charge through the night. So, I removed it and all seems well again. Anyone else have battery drain issues with it? At first I suspected the phone, but it runs fine without LauncherPro.
Thank you Verizon and Asurion!
This story starts with the idea of going to Great Smoky Mountains National Park to hike the Abrams Falls trail. As we walked along, I stopped and took pictures along the way. At one point, there was a pretty good amount of rocks in the stream, so I decided to step out and take some pictures. On my way back to shore, my shoe slipped off one of the rocks and I went in, with my phone! I freaked out for a minute, but was hopeful that I could salvage my Motorola Droid. After attempting to dry it on the dash for several hours, I called Verizon and was given the location of my closest store, North Knoxville. I went in, explained what happened, the CSR agreed it was an emergency replacement, we called Asurion, I paid my $89 deductible, and I walked out of the store with a brand new Droid. Needless to say, my nerves were calmed by the staff and the gentleman on the phone for Asurion. I’m just SO thankful I had insurance and that Verizon was willing to act quickly for me. THANK YOU!!!
