I’d have to say, this July was pretty exciting at Daytona. It was good to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. put the #3 Wrangler Chevrolet into victory lane on Friday night.  He followed that performance up on Saturday night with a fourth place finish in the Coke Zero 400, even though he said his car was really not that great.  Of course, he had a little help with a huge crash with 12 laps to go.  Still, it’s a top five finish for a guy who has been struggling for quite some time.  Everyone thought that Junior’s move to Hendrick Motorsports would put him in the spotlight.  However, that has yet to materialize.  I’m not really sure what’s going on with Junior.  It seems like he has a good week followed by several bad weeks.  Bad driving or bad decisions on tuning the car?  I’m not really sure I know, to tell the truth.  Hopefully this good weekend lights a fire and gives Junior a stronger desire to drive harder.  He’s not very aggressive and maybe that is some of the issue at hand.  Next up: Chicagoland!
